Since she was a little girl, Brooke has always had a keen interest in reading. She grew up in the Lake District and is the eldest of three children. Her father was, and still is, a big Steven King fan, while her mother tended to have the usual women's fiction lying around the house. Brooke read anything that she could get her hands on!
After finishing her a-levels Brooke left the quiet country life for the big city and went to study Primary Education with QTS at Nottingham for four years. The summer before she graduated, she lived in Beijing and studied Mandarin at BLCU.
In her graduate year, Brooke returned back to the Lake District to live with her family. She completed her degree while looking after her new baby daughter. For two years she put her world on hold and focused on being a full-time single mum before going back to work.
Some years later, Brooke was given a Kindle for Christmas. She began writing ''The Missing Half ' in late spring 2013 after her husband told her that writing a book wasn't as easy as she thought! Initially aiming for 100 sales, Brooke has now sold copies into the thousands. Her second novel, 'Letting go of Emma' was released on the 5th February 2014 and her third "The Other Wife" on October 4th 2014.
Brooke lives in the Lake District with her husband Peter, daughters Ava and Edith, one cat and a tortoise. In her spare time you'll might find her riding her bike over a mountain, taking photographs of animals or swimming in a lake. She drinks a lot of tea, likes books and loves cake.
